Metrix Group was established in 1973 as a small supplier and manufacturer of metal trunking, light fittings and conventional switchboards to the Hong Kong electrical industry. In 1985, it developed its proprietary and type-tested modular switchboard panel system that became its core business.

In 1989, it expanded its business to include installation and maintenance of both low and high voltage electrical system and sales of electrical equipment and instruments in China and Macau. Metrix Group became the sole authorized agent for all products from Circutor Group, Spain.

The products range from simple electrical testing and measuring instruments to complex harmonic filtering equipment. They include energy conservation equipment, access and attendance control equipment, stock inventory control systems and, lightning and surge protection systems. Metrix Group is also the sole distributor for L.V. and H.V. switchgears and panels produced in Italy under the brand name of "Metrix-Plasma".
